Do you guys think we should put a title on our college essays?

I've been working on my college essay and I'm not sure if I should give it a title or just leave it without one. What do you all think? I don't want to do anything that might negatively affect my application.

Hey there! It's great that you're putting thought into your college essay. Whether to include a title or not is subjective, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. Some students choose to add a title to make their essay stand out, while others prefer to let the content speak for itself.

If you do decide to include a title, make sure it's concise, relevant, and adds value to your essay. It should give the reader a glimpse into what your essay is about without revealing too much. For example, if your essay is about a significant experience that taught you a valuable lesson, a title like 'The Day That Changed Everything' could work.

That being said, not including a title won't hurt your application either. Admissions officers focus on the content of your essay and how well it conveys your experiences, thoughts, and personality. Ultimately, the decision is yours, and you should choose what makes you feel most comfortable and confident in your essay.
