SAT exam duration and study breaks?

I know the SAT is a lengthy exam, but I'm not exactly sure how many hours it lasts. Can anyone provide the exact duration? Additionally, how do you recommend handling breaks while studying to keep my focus sharp?

The SAT lasts for 3 hours, plus two short breaks totaling around 15 minutes, adding up to approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

As for handling breaks while studying, it's essential to find a balance between staying focused and giving your brain time to recharge. One popular method is the Pomodoro Technique, which involves studying for 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break. After completing four cycles of 25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of break, you can take a longer break, around 15-30 minutes. Feel free to adjust these time intervals depending on your personal preferences and attention span.

Remember to take advantage of your breaks by standing up, stretching, taking deep breaths, or engaging in a brief physical activity, such as a walk around the room or some jumping jacks. This helps to refresh your mind and prevent burnout. Also, during your study sessions, keep yourself hydrated and avoid heavy meals that may cause drowsiness. Stay away from social media and other distractions during your breaks, as they can significantly reduce the effectiveness of the break and make it harder to refocus when you resume studying.
