Hey guys, I'm currently a high school junior and I'm really into microbiology. I've been checking out NYU but I'm not sure if they have a microbiology major. Do they have one? Has anyone here pursued it?
NYU does not offer a specific microbiology major, but they do have a Biology major with a minor in Cell and Molecular Biology within the College of Arts and Science. This concentration allows you to explore various aspects of microbiology, including cellular structure, genetics, molecular biology, and related topics. Students in this major also have the opportunity to conduct research in labs, which can further deepen your understanding of microbiology.
While it's not a dedicated microbiology major, the Cell and Molecular Biology minor can still provide a strong foundation in the field. Additionally, you might consider looking into other schools that offer a specific major in microbiology if that's your main area of interest.
