Hi everyone! I'm a junior interested in applying to Georgia State University next year. Does anyone know their SAT requirements or if they're test-optional? Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi! Georgia State University (GSU) has been operating under a test-optional policy since the Covid-19 pandemic, which means SAT scores are not required for admission. You can choose whether or not to submit your scores as a part of your application. If you believe your SAT scores strengthen your application, you can include them, but if you feel your scores don't represent your academic abilities, you can choose to apply without them.
If you do decide to submit your SAT scores, there isn't a strict minimum score requirement for admission to GSU. However, to give you an idea, the middle 50% of admitted students in recent years had scores between 1050–1290. Being in or above this range would definitely give you a boost, but remember that admissions officers will also evaluate other aspects of your profile, like your GPA and extracurricular involvement, regardless of your SAT score (or if you even submit one).
Finally, do keep in mind that there can be particular instances where submitting an SAT score makes sense, even if doing so is not required.
