How much does it cost to register for the SAT?

Hey everyone, I'm just getting started on the SAT process and was wondering how much it costs to register for the test? Are there any additional fees I need to be aware of? Thanks!

Hello! The cost to register for the SAT is $60. Keep in mind that this price is for tests taken within the United States. The cost to take the SAT outside the United States may differ, so be sure to check the College Board website for accurate information if you're testing internationally.

There are additional fees to be aware of:

1. Late registration fee: If you register after the regular registration deadline, there is an additional charge of $30.

2. Change test center fee: If you make any changes to your test center, test date, or switch between the SAT and SAT Subject Tests, you'll need to pay a $25 fee.

3. Late cancel fee: For canceling your registration after the change deadline, you'll need to pay $35.

4. Additional score reports: You'll receive four free score reports that you can send to colleges or scholarship programs of your choice. However, if you wish to send your score report to more than four recipients or if you're sending them after the free submission deadline (nine days after the test), there will be a fee of $14 per report.

If the cost is a concern, you may qualify for an SAT fee waiver that covers the total test cost and provides additional benefits, such as a waived application fee for certain colleges. To see if you qualify, check with your school counselor and review the eligibility criteria on the College Board website. Good luck with your SAT preparation!
