SAT Photo Guidelines

Hey there, fellow test-takers! I just registered for the SAT, and I'm curious about the photo guidelines. Does anyone know the specific requirements for the test day photo? I want to make sure I don't run into any issues. Thank you!

Hello! It's important to follow the SAT photo guidelines to avoid any problems on test day. Here are the main requirements for your test day photo:

1. The photo must be a recent, recognizable photo of you. It should be a headshot and match your appearance on test day.

2. Your photo must be in color and have a plain, light background (preferably white). Avoid any patterns and distracting elements in the background.

3. Your full face should be visible in the photo. Look straight at the camera, and make sure both your eyes are open and clearly visible. Don't wear sunglasses or anything that obstructs your face.

4. Head coverings are allowed only for religious reasons. However, they shouldn't obscure your face, and your full face should remain visible.

5. You cannot use a group photo, a picture of a picture, or another person's photo.

6. No filters, emojis, text, or other digital alterations should be applied to the photo.

7. The photo file format should be one of the following: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif. Also, ensure that the file size doesn't exceed the maximum limit stated on the registration website.

Make sure the photo you upload during registration meets these guidelines, as it will be printed on your admission ticket. You'll need to bring the printed ticket with you on test day, and the test center staff will use this photo to verify your identification. In case there's a mismatch or a problem with the photo, you may be denied entry to the test center.
