Texas A&M ACT requirements?

Hi y'all, I'm thinking about applying to Texas A&M and need to know what their ACT requirements are or the average scores they usually accept. Thanks so much!

Hi there! Texas A&M, like many universities nowadays, does not have strict ACT requirements since they are currently test-optional. However, to give you a rough idea of the average ACT scores that might be competitive for admission, here's some data based on admitted students' profiles in recent years:

The middle 50% ACT scores for admitted students range from 26 to 32, meaning 50% of accepted applicants fall within this range. The 25th percentile score is 26, and the 75th percentile score is 32. Generally, to be a competitive applicant, you'd want your score to be in the upper half of this range or even higher.

Remember that your test score plays a role in your overall application but is just one of the factors that admissions officers consider when evaluating applicants. Your grades, class rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and other factors are also significant when it comes to the decision-making process.

Since Texas A&M evaluates applicants holistically, a lower ACT score might be offset by other strong aspects of your application, and vice versa. So, even if your ACT score is below the middle 50% range, you can still be considered for admission based on other factors in your application. Similarly, a higher score won't guarantee admission, as the rest of your application also has to be strong. Good luck with the application process!
