ACT Requirements for Stanford University?

Hi all! I've been researching Stanford's admissions, but I can't find a clear answer on their ACT requirements. Can someone enlighten me? Is there a minimum score I should aim for, or is it more holistic? Thank you!

Hello! Stanford University, like many other selective colleges, does not have a strict minimum ACT score requirement. Admissions are based on a holistic review of each application, taking into account various factors such as your academic performance, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation.

However, it's useful to know the average ACT scores of admitted students to understand where you should aim to be competitive. Generally, Stanford admits students with an ACT composite score in the 32-35 range, with the middle 50% of admitted students scoring from 34 to 35. Keep in mind, these are just the average scores and not strict requirements.

That means, if you score within this range, you're within the competitive ACT score zone for Stanford, but this doesn't guarantee admission, as the admissions committee will still review your entire application. Nevertheless, if your ACT score falls below the middle 50% percentile, it doesn't mean you have no chance. A strong application with other exceptional factors may still allow you to stand out.

As you prepare your application for Stanford, focus on showcasing your strengths, such as academics, extracurricular involvement, leadership, and unique personal qualities, in addition to aiming for a high ACT score. Good luck with your application!
