University of California SAT Policy

Hey everyone! I'm curious about the SAT requirements for the University of California schools. Are they still considering SAT scores in their admissions process, or has that changed recently?

Hello! The University of California (UC) system has actually moved to a test-blind policy for all applicants. This means that they no longer consider SAT or ACT scores in their admissions processes. This policy is in effect for all UC schools, including well-known campuses such as UCLA and UC Berkeley.

This major change took place to promote a more equitable admissions process and to reduce the emphasis on standardized testing. Instead, admissions officers at UC schools will focus on other aspects of your application, such as your grades, personal insight questions, extracurricular activities, and involvement in your community.
