What comes after trigonometry in math courses?

Hi! I'm currently taking trigonometry and I'm wondering what the next math course is that I should take in my senior year. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

After completing trigonometry, the most common next math course to take is pre-calculus or calculus, depending on your math background and your school's course offerings. Pre-calculus further develops your algebra and trigonometry skills while also introducing you to more advanced mathematical concepts, such as limits and series. This course is designed to better prepare you for calculus.

Calculus itself is often divided into two courses: Calculus AB (Calculus 1) and Calculus BC (Calculus 2) if your school offers Advanced Placement courses. In Calculus AB, you'll learn about limits, differentiation, and integration. Calculus BC covers the same topics as Calculus AB but delves deeper and introduces additional concepts, such as polar coordinates and infinite series.

If you've already taken pre-calculus or feel confident with the concepts covered in that class, you might want to consider enrolling in Calculus AB or even Calculus BC. Speak with your math teacher or school counselor to determine which class suits your current knowledge and academic goals. Many colleges appreciate seeing a strong background in math, so taking the most advanced option available to you can be beneficial when you apply to college.
