VCU SAT requirement – what do I need?

Hi everyone! I'm applying to VCU and I want to make sure my SAT score is up to par. Can anyone tell me what the current SAT requirements are for VCU? Thanks!

Hello! Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) does not have a strict minimum SAT score requirement for applicants. However, it can be helpful to look at the average scores of admitted students to get an idea of the score range that VCU typically accepts.

For the VCU class of 2027 (the most recent available data), the middle 50% of admitted students scored between 1040 and 1260 on their SATs. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1040, and another 25% scored above 1260. Keep in mind that VCU is likely to evaluate your application holistically, so your SAT score is just one piece of the puzzle.

It's worth considering that a stronger SAT score can make you stand out and potentially open up more opportunities for scholarships. To give yourself the best chance of admission, you should aim to score at or above the upper end of the middle 50% score range (i.e., 1260 or higher). Of course, having an SAT score below this range does not mean you won't get in, but it might make the rest of your application even more critical to showcase your strengths.

Good luck with your application to VCU!
