Hi everyone, I know MIT is really competitive, but I'm not sure about their ACT score requirements. Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks!
MIT does not have strict ACT score requirements, as they practice a holistic admissions process. However, to be competitive, you'll want to aim for a score in the higher range of typically admitted students. For MIT, the middle 50% of admitted students have an ACT score between 35 and 36. This means that 25% of admitted students score below 35, and another 25% score a 36.
Although a high ACT score is important, it's not the only factor MIT considers in its admissions process. They will also assess your academic performance, extracurricular involvement, essays, and letters of recommendation. In other words, a great ACT score is an advantage, but it does not guarantee admission, especially for a highly selective school like MIT.
Good luck!
