Hi all! I'm applying to Texas Christian University (TCU) and was wondering if anyone knows what the application requirements are. Like, do they use the Common App or Coalition App and are there any additional essays or components required? Thanks!
Hello! Texas Christian University (TCU) does use the Common App for their application process. So you'll need to complete the Common App, which includes the main essay, as well as TCU's supplemental essays, whose prompts are:
"At TCU, it is our vision to be a world-class, values-centered university. We value academics, intellectual inquiry, creative expression, leadership, service, diversity, and the appreciation of the human experience. With which one of TCU’s core values do you most align and why? (Maximum length: 200 words)"
and
"TCU is committed to creating an inclusive campus culture for all people. We have a shared responsibility to enhance our community by encouraging inclusive environments through learning opportunities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Describe how you have already contributed to creating an inclusive environment in your community or how you plan to contribute to an inclusive college environment in the future. (Maximum length: 200 words)"
Additionally, TCU has some other application requirements, such as:
1. Official high school transcript
2. One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or other school official
3. Test scores are optional; you can submit either SAT or ACT scores if you choose to do so
4. A non-refundable application fee of $50 or fee waiver
Be sure to check the application deadlines, which are November 1 for Early Action and Early Decision I, and February 1 for Regular Decision and Early Decision II. Best of luck with your application to TCU!
