BC average GPA?

Hi everyone, I'm looking into Boston College for next year and wanted to find out what the average GPA looks like for admitted students. If anyone has any info or insight on what to aim for, it would really help! Thanks!

Hello! Boston College is known to be a selective institution, and its average GPA for admitted students typically falls in the range of 3.7 to 4.0 (unweighted), with most students leaning towards the higher end of that range. It's also worth noting that Boston College takes into account the rigor of your course load, which means they'll be interested in seeing you successfully challenge yourself with AP or IB classes and maintain a strong GPA.

To give yourself the best chance of admission, you should aim for a GPA above 3.7, ideally closer to 4.0, and also show your strengths in other areas of your application, such as standardized test scores, extracurricular involvement, and your personal essays. However, don't be discouraged if your GPA is slightly below these numbers—Boston College, like most colleges, considers a variety of factors in the admission process and may still find other aspects of your application compelling.
