Princeton SAT score requirements

Hey fellow applicants! I'm really interested in applying to Princeton, and I was wondering what sort of SAT score is needed to have a shot at getting in. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? Thanks!

Hello! It's great to see that you're interested in applying to Princeton. While there is no strict SAT score requirement, competitive applicants usually have scores in the top percentile ranges. According to Princeton's Class of 2027 profile, the middle 50% of admitted students scored between 1510-1570 on the SAT. However, Princeton is test-optional, so not submitting your test scores won't negatively affect your application.

Keep in mind that having a high SAT score is just one aspect of your application, as admissions at Princeton and other selective schools are holistic. That means they consider multiple factors, such as your transcript, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. So, while a competitive SAT score could be an advantage, it's important to focus on other components of your application as well.

In any case, if your SAT scores fall within or above the middle 50% range and you have a strong overall application, you should have a competitive shot at getting accepted. Remember that admissions can be unpredictable, especially at highly selective institutions like Princeton, so it's always good to have a balanced list of schools in terms of selectivity.

Good luck with your application!
