Caltech application process

1. Choose an application platform: Caltech accepts both the Common Application and the Coalition Application. You can choose whichever platform you prefer or are more familiar with.

2. Complete the general application: Fill out the basic biographical information, academic history, and extracurricular involvement sections in the application.

3. Caltech-specific questions: In addition to the general application, Caltech requires you to answer some school-specific questions. These include short-answer questions about your STEM interests, research experiences, and why you're interested in Caltech.

4. Caltech Supplemental Essays: Caltech also has several supplemental essays for you to complete, focusing on topics like collaboration, your intended major, problem-solving, and any experiences that make you unique in your scientific pursuits.

5. Letters of recommendation: Caltech requires a total of 3 letters of recommendation: two from science or math teachers and one from a humanities or social sciences teacher. Make sure to give your recommenders ample time to write and submit their letters.
