Comparing ACT and SAT scores

Hi there, I got a 27 on my ACT and I'm trying to figure out what this score would be roughly equivalent to on the SAT. I'm a bit stressed since I want to make sure I'm applying to the right colleges, and many of the ones I'm considering ask for SAT scores. Can someone help me with this conversion? Thanks!

Hi! It's understandable that you'd want to know how your ACT score translates to an SAT score, especially when researching colleges and their admissions requirements. To convert your ACT score to an approximate equivalent SAT score, you can use a concordance table. Based on the most recent tables, an ACT score of 27 is roughly equivalent to an SAT score between 1280 and 1300.

Keep in mind that this is just an estimate and different colleges may use slightly different concordance tables. It's important to check the website of each college you're considering to see their specific score requirements, as they might accept either test or be test-optional.

Lastly, remember that test scores are only one part of your application. Universities also heavily consider factors such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, and essays. As you're applying to colleges, make sure to present a well-rounded application that showcases your interests and strengths. Good luck!
