UT ACT Requirements?

Hi all, I'm starting to look into the University of Texas and I'm a bit stressed about whether my ACT score is good enough. Does anyone know what their typical ACT requirements are or if there's a certain score they prefer? Would appreciate any advice!

Hi there! When considering applicants, UT Austin doesn't have a specific required ACT score, but they do provide average and middle 50% ranges for admitted students' scores. Based on the most recent data, the middle 50% range for ACT scores of admitted students at UT Austin is between 27 and 34. It's important to remember that these are just average scores and not strict cutoffs.

Although having a score within or above that range might strengthen your application, UT Austin considers other factors as well, such as your high school coursework, class rank, GPA, essays, and extracurricular activities. They evaluate applications using a holistic process, so even if your ACT score isn't as high as you'd like, you can still showcase your strengths in other areas.

If you feel that you might have a better shot by retaking the ACT, consider doing so. However, remember to weigh the benefits against the time investment and other factors like potential improvements in your score. Good luck with your application!
