SAT/ACT Requirements for Class of 2024

Hi everyone! With the whole pandemic situation, I know many colleges went test-optional. I'm wondering whether the Class of 2024 had to submit SAT/ACT scores or if those requirements were waived. If you guys could help me out, that'd be awesome!

For the Class of 2024, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges and universities had indeed adopted test-optional policies, meaning it was not mandatory to submit SAT/ACT scores for admission consideration. However, some students still chose to submit their scores if they felt it would enhance their applications.

As the pandemic continued, many schools maintained their test-optional policies for the following years, while some have reverted to requiring standardized test scores. Keep in mind that each institution has its own policies, so it's essential to research individual schools' requirements when you're applying to ensure you have the most up-to-date information for that specific college.

For example, during the 2024-2025 application cycle, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, Harvard University, Purdue University, Brown University, Yale University, The University of Texas at Austin, and California Institute of Technology all require SAT/ACT scores from applicants.

Always double-check each school's admissions requirements to make sure you provide all the necessary materials for your application.
