What's the average ACT score for colleges in the Midwest?

Hey everyone, I'm just doing some research on colleges in the Midwest and was wondering if anyone knows the average ACT scores for schools in the region. It would be nice if you could provide me with information on University of Iowa, University of Kentucky, Miami University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and any other Midwestern colleges you think I should consider. Thanks!

Hi there! While the average ACT scores for colleges in the Midwest can vary greatly depending on the selectivity and size of the schools, I can certainly provide you with some info on the schools you mentioned as well as a few other notable Midwestern colleges.

1. University of Iowa: The middle 50% ACT range for accepted students is typically around 22-28.

2. University of Kentucky: The middle 50% ACT range for accepted students is around 21-28.

3. Miami University: The middle 50% ACT range for accepted students is around 24-29.

4. University of Wisconsin-Madison: The middle 50% ACT range for accepted students lies between 28-32.

Some additional Midwestern colleges you might consider:

5. University of Chicago: Highly selective, with a middle 50% ACT range of 34-36 (test-optional for 2024-2025 cycle).

6. Northwestern University: Another highly selective school, the middle 50% ACT range is around 33-35 (test-optional for 2024-2025 cycle).

7. University of Michigan: A top public institution, the middle 50% ACT range for accepted students is around 31-34 (test-optional for 2024-2025 cycle).

8. Ohio State University: A large public university, the middle 50% ACT range for accepted students is about 27-32.

Keep in mind that these numbers represent the middle 50% ranges, meaning 25% of accepted students scored below this range, and 25% scored above. So, your individual score should not be the sole factor determining whether you're a good fit for a particular college. It's also important to consider factors like your GPA, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and essays.

Good luck with your college search!
