NYU's Average SAT and GPA Requirements?

Hey guys, I'm starting my college search and NYU is one of my top options. Can anyone tell me what the average admitted student's SAT score and GPA are? Also, if you've gotten accepted to NYU, it'd be great if you could share your stats and any tips for the application process!

NYU is a great choice and a highly competitive school. For the Class of 2027, the middle 50% SAT range for NYU was 1480-1550, and the average high school GPA of admitted students was around 3.81 unweighted. Keep in mind that these are just the average numbers and NYU, like many other selective schools, uses a holistic admissions process.

It's important to make sure that your application showcases strong extracurricular involvement, particularly in areas you're passionate about, and that your essays are well-written, thoughtful, and highlight your individual interests and experiences. It's always beneficial to go beyond the statistics and present a comprehensive view of who you are as a student and a person.

If you're aiming for a competitive program within NYU, such as the Stern School of Business or the Tisch School of the Arts, you'll want to tailor your application to emphasize your strengths and talents within those specific fields.

Finally, keep in mind that every application cycle can be slightly different, but these numbers should give you a general idea of what NYU looks for in its applicants. Good luck with your college search and your application to NYU!
