How can I retrieve my old ACT scores?

Hey, I took the ACT a few years ago and I need my scores for a college application. Is there a way to obtain them from previous years? Your help is much appreciated!

Yes, you can retrieve your old ACT scores by requesting them through the ACT website. Follow these steps to obtain your scores:

1. Visit the ACT website (act.org) and log in to your account. If you haven't already, you'll need to create an account using the same information you used when registering for the ACT.

2. Once logged in, navigate to the "Scores" section of your account.

3. If your scores are from within the past two years, they should be available online for free. You can view and download them directly from your account.

4. If your scores are more than two years old but less than five years old, you may be able to request an archived score report. To request archived scores, you'll need to fill out the ACT's Archived Score Report Request Form, which you can find on the ACT website under "Services for Examinees" in the ACT Test Menu (look for 'Understanding Your Scores').

5. If your scores are over five years old, unfortunately, ACT no longer maintains records, and your scores cannot be retrieved.

If you want to spend more time on your score and what it means, check out our post breaking down ACT scores and exactly what they mean: https://blog.collegevine.com/how-does-the-scoring-curve-work-for-the-act/.

Keep in mind that processing time for archived score reports may take several weeks, so be sure to request your scores well ahead of any college application deadlines. Good luck with your college applications!
