Is Baylor test-optional for admissions?

Hey everyone! Just wondering if Baylor University is currently test-optional for their admissions? And if they are, do you think it'd still be better to submit my test scores (SAT/ACT) if I have a decent score? How much weight do they put on test scores?

Yes, Baylor University is test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle. This means that you have the choice to submit your SAT or ACT scores, but they are not required for your application to be considered.

As for whether you should submit your test scores, it would depend on how your scores compare to Baylor's typical admitted student profile. If your scores are around or above their averages (SAT: 1266, ACT: 28.6), it might be beneficial to submit them as they could help strengthen your application.

That said, if your scores are significantly below these values, you might consider not submitting them, as the admissions committee will primarily focus on other aspects of your application, such as your GPA, extracurriculars, essays, and letters of recommendation.

Keep in mind that since Baylor is test-optional, test scores will not hold as much weight as they have in the past. However, if you decide to submit your scores and they're competitive, they can still positively contribute to your application. If you choose not to submit them, the admissions committee will put more emphasis on other factors to assess your fit for the university. Good luck with your application!
