SAT Timing Breakdown with Breaks

Hey friends, can you give me a detailed breakdown of the SAT timing, including breaks and how this is divided across all sections? I'd like to have a better understanding of the test structure.

Sure, I can help you with that! The SAT, which is now fully digital, is divided into two main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW), and Math. There are no essay or experimental sections on the current SAT. Here's a breakdown of the timing and structure of the test, including breaks:

1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) Section:

- Module 1: 32 minutes (27 Reading questions)

- Module 2: 32 minutes (27 Writing and Language questions)

- Break: 10 minutes

2. Math Section:

- Module 1: 35 minutes (22 Math questions)

- Module 2: 35 minutes (22 Math questions)

Both the Reading and Writing questions are combined in the ERW section, and the Math questions are divided into two modules. The digital SAT allows you to use your calculator for both math modules.

In total, the test has 98 questions that need to be completed in 134 minutes, excluding the break. If you factor in the break, which is 10 minutes, you end up with a total testing experience of 144 minutes or 2 hours and 24 minutes.

It's essential to practice managing your time efficiently, so you can perform well on the test. You can use the Bluebook™ app to preview the digital SAT format and take full-length practice tests to prepare yourself for the real exam. Good luck with your test preparation!
