Awesome interior design programs in the US?

I've been super interested in interior design for as long as I can remember. I'm currently a junior, trying to figure out which schools have top-notch interior design programs. Can anyone in the know share some insights? Thanks in advance!

Of course! It's great that you're considering interior design as your major. In the United States, there are several universities known for their strong interior design programs. Here's a list of some notable ones:

1. Pratt Institute (New York): Pratt offers a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design that focuses on conceptual thinking, spatial analysis and problem-solving skills in addition to design fundamentals.

2. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): RISD's interior design program also offers a BFA degree. It has earned a reputation for its strong emphasis on design research, critical thinking, and collaborative work.

3. Parsons School of Design (New York): Parsons has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program in Interior Design that encourages students to engage with multiple design styles, theoretical frameworks, and historical perspectives. The school also focuses on sustainable design practices.

4. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD): SCAD's interior design department offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program that combines technical skills with creative problem-solving abilities, making it a well-rounded experience for students.

5. New York School of Interior Design (NYSID): As the name suggests, NYSID focuses solely on interior design education and offers a range of degree options, including BFA, Associate, and Master's degrees.

6. California College of the Arts (CCA): CCA offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design, emphasizing design strategy, sustainable design, artistic expression, and professional development.

These are just a few examples of universities with exceptional interior design programs, but by no means an exhaustive list! Make sure to research each institution thoroughly, considering factors like location, tuition, and campus culture before making your decision. Best of luck with your college search!
