Does Stanford prefer ACT or SAT?

Hey guys! I'm looking into applying to Stanford but I'm not sure whether I should submit my ACT or SAT score. Do they have a preference between the two? If so, which one should I focus on improving?

Stanford University does not have a preference between the ACT or SAT. Both tests are treated equally during the admissions process. To decide which test you should focus on improving, consider which exam you feel more comfortable with and which one best showcases your academic strengths.

Take a look at your current ACT and SAT scores, and compare them to the middle 50% range of accepted students at Stanford. This range represents the test scores for the 25th percentile and 75th percentile of admitted students, giving you an idea of the scores competitive applicants usually have. Keep in mind that even if your scores fall within or above this range, admission is not guaranteed due to the holistic review process that considers other aspects of your application as well.

Ultimately, focus on the test you feel you can achieve the best score in, and consider taking some practice tests or engaging in test prep resources to further improve your performance. Good luck with your applications!
