Hey everyone, I'm gearing up to register for the SAT and I was wondering about the current cost to take the exam. Also, are there any possible waivers or discounts for students with financial difficulties? Appreciate the help, thanks!
Starting in August 2024, the basic registration fee for the SAT is $68. As of Spring 2024, the SAT is fully digital, and there is only one version of the test, without an essay section.
For students with financial difficulties, the College Board offers fee waivers to eligible students, helping cover the cost of the SAT registration. To be eligible, you typically need to meet criteria such as being enrolled in a government assistance program, receiving free or reduced-price lunch, or participating in a federal TRIO program. You should speak to your high school counselor about obtaining a fee waiver. If you qualify, your counselor will provide you with a fee waiver code to use during the registration process.
Keep in mind, if you're eligible for an SAT fee waiver, you'll also receive other benefits, such as waivers for up to four college application fees and unlimited free score reports.
Good luck with your SAT preparation and registration!
