Retaking the SAT: What's the cost?

So I just got my SAT scores back, and I'm thinking about retaking the test to improve my score. But does anyone know how much it costs to retake the SAT? I don't want to be caught off guard by any unexpected fees. Thanks!

The cost of retaking the SAT is the same as when you took it the first time. As of the 2024-2025 testing year, the registration fee for the digital SAT is $68 as of August 2024. There are additional fees related to certain situations that you may encounter, including:

- Late registration fee: $30

- Change test center fee: $25

It's important to register for the test as early as possible to ensure availability at your preferred test center and to avoid late fees. You can register for the SAT online through your College Board account.

Note that fee waivers are available for students with demonstrated financial need. The fee waiver covers the full cost of the SAT, as well as fees for late registration and changing test date, test center, or test type. To find out if you qualify for a fee waiver, talk to your high school counselor.

Best of luck if you decide to retake the SAT!
