I'm starting to prep for the ACT and I'm curious – how many science passages should I expect during the science section? Thanks in advance!
You can expect a total of 6 science passages on the ACT Science section. The passages typically cover a variety of scientific topics, such as biology, chemistry, Earth science, and physics, and will be a mix of data interpretation, experimental design, and conflicting viewpoints passages. For each passage, there will be 5-7 questions, for a total of 40 questions in the science section.
You'll have 35 minutes to complete this section, so it's important to practice your pacing and reading comprehension skills to efficiently tackle each passage and associated questions, as you'll have less than a minute to answer each one.
