Are AP scores of 4 strong enough for Ivy League schools?

Hello! I recently received my AP exam results, and I got several 4s and a couple of 5s. I want to apply to schools like Princeton and Cornell, but I'm unsure if those scores are good enough. Should I retake any of these exams, or is this fine?

Hi there! Firstly, congrats on your AP exam results! Those scores are solid, but I understand your concerns about Ivy League admissions. Ivy League schools have high expectations, but AP scores are just one factor in the application process.

My own child is currently attending an Ivy League school, and they also had a mix of 4s and 5s. Generally, scores of 4 and above are considered good, and many students with these scores get accepted to Ivy League schools.

Keep in mind that your application will also be evaluated on your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. It's important to present a well-rounded profile.

Rather than focusing on retaking AP exams, work on strengthening other aspects of your application. That being said, you should still report all your AP scores, as it shows you've taken challenging courses and have performed reasonably well.

Wishing you the best of luck in the admissions process!
