1030 SAT score—how does it compare to the ACT?

Hey, I just got my SAT score back and it's a 1030. I'm considering taking the ACT as well. Can someone help me understand how my SAT score compares to the ACT? What would be a similar ACT score? Thanks in advance!

Hello! To help you understand how your 1030 SAT score compares to the ACT, you can use a concordance table, which is designed to help translate scores between the two tests. Based on the College Board's concordance table, a 1030 on the SAT roughly translates to a 20 on the ACT.

Keep in mind that some students find one test more comfortable than the other, so it might be worth giving the ACT a shot to see if you perform better on it. The ACT has a slightly different format and covers slightly different material. The ACT has a science section, which the SAT does not have, and its math section may have a few more advanced mathematics topics.

Before taking the ACT, it would be beneficial for you to familiarize yourself with the test's format, practice some sample questions, and take a full-length practice test. This will help you determine if you prefer the ACT's style and if you should focus on studying for the ACT instead of the SAT.

Good luck with your test preparations!
