Hey y'all! So, I'm working to qualify for a Bright Futures Scholarship and I'm planning to take the ACT soon. What kind of score do I need to achieve to meet the scholarship requirements? Any helpful info would be awesome! :)
Hello! Congratulations on working towards the Bright Futures Scholarship, a great opportunity for Florida students. The Bright Futures Scholarship has two main award levels: the Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award and the Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) award. Both have different ACT score requirements.
For the Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award, you'll need to achieve a composite ACT score of 29 or higher. This award covers 100% of tuition and applicable fees, as well as a $300 educational expense stipend for both fall and spring terms.
For the Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) award, the required composite ACT score is slightly lower – you'll need a 25 or higher. The FMS award covers 75% of tuition and applicable fees.
Keep in mind that in addition to these ACT scores, you'll also need to meet other eligibility criteria, such as specific community service hours and maintaining a minimum weighted high school GPA (3.50 for FAS and 3.00 for FMS).
It's essential to study and prepare well for the ACT so you can achieve your target score and maximize your chances of earning one of these scholarships. Good luck!
