ACT highest score?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about taking the ACT and I want to know what the highest possible score is. Also, what is considered a good ACT score for top colleges?

The highest possible score on the ACT is a 36, which is a composite of the four different sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Each section is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and then the four section scores are averaged to yield the composite score.

When it comes to top colleges, a good ACT score typically falls within the range of 30 to 36. However, it's important to note that admission to top schools is highly competitive, and having a high ACT score alone is not sufficient for gaining acceptance. Depending on the college, applicants should aim for scores in the 75th percentile or higher for the admitted student profile at their desired schools.

Keep in mind that some top colleges have gone test-optional or test-blind for the recent application cycles, which means that they either don't require or don't consider standardized test scores during their admission process. It's essential to check each school's website for their specific test policies. Ultimately, it's important to have a strong application overall, including your grades, course rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation.
