Is it better to submit SAT/ACT scores or apply test-optional?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I'm trying to decide whether to submit my SAT/ACT scores or apply test-optional. My scores are decent, but not outstanding. Should I submit them anyway or just focus on the other parts of my application? What do you guys think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! I think it's great that you're considering your options for college applications. When it comes to submitting test scores or applying test-optional, it's important to weigh the pros and cons based on your individual situation. Since you mentioned that your scores are decent but not outstanding, it's worth considering how they compare to the average scores of admitted students at the colleges you're interested in. If your scores are close to or above the average, it might be a good idea to submit them. On the other hand, if your scores are significantly below the average, going test-optional could be a better choice. Also, consider the strength of other aspects of your application, such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, and essays. If you feel confident in these areas, they may help offset a slightly lower test score. Ultimately, it's essential to think about your specific situation and make a decision that you feel gives you the best chance of being admitted to your desired colleges. Best of luck with your applications!
