Are AP scores of 4 considered good enough for Ivy League schools?

Hello everyone! I received a 4 on a couple of my AP exams, and I'm wondering if these scores are good enough for Ivy League schools. Do these schools expect students to have 5s on all their AP exams? How much do they consider AP scores in the admissions process? Thanks for your help!

Hello! Congrats on your AP exam scores! A score of 4 is still considered good and demonstrates a strong understanding of the subject matter. While it's true that Ivy League schools have high academic standards, they don't strictly expect students to have perfect scores on everything, including their AP exams. Admission to these schools is a holistic process, meaning they consider many factors in addition to test scores.

That being said, higher scores, especially 5s, can give you a more competitive edge. However, AP scores are not the primary focus in the admissions process, and they're likely to look at other aspects, such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, and the rigor of your courses, more closely. So, while having 5s definitely helps, your overall application package is more important. It's crucial to maintain a balanced application and showcase your strengths.

In summary, your AP scores of 4 shouldn't hold you back from applying to Ivy League schools, as long as the rest of your application is strong. Best of luck!
