Ole Miss GPA Requirements for Out-of-State Students?

Hi, I'm an out-of-state student interested in applying to Ole Miss. Does anyone know the specific GPA requirements for out-of-state applicants? And do they consider weighted or unweighted GPAs? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Ole Miss does not have specific GPA requirements for out-of-state students, so both in-state and out-of-state applicants are evaluated on similar grounds. However, to be competitive, it's recommended that your GPA be at least around a 3.5 or higher. That being said, Ole Miss takes a holistic approach to admissions, and your GPA is just one aspect of your application. Demonstrating strong extracurricular involvement, good test scores (if submitting), and well-written essays can also contribute positively to your application.

In terms of whether Ole Miss considers weighted or unweighted GPAs, the university generally looks at both. If your high school provides both a weighted and an unweighted GPA on your transcript, Ole Miss will likely consider the weighted GPA to account for any course rigor, such as honors or AP classes. If your school only provides one type of GPA, that's what Ole Miss will consider.

Best of luck with your application to Ole Miss!
