Georgia Tech GPA Requirements?

Hi folks, I'm really interested in applying to Georgia Tech, but I'm not sure what GPA they're looking for. Can anyone tell me the average GPA for accepted students, or any personal experiences with getting in? Thanks a bunch!

Hello! Georgia Tech is a competitive school, and while they don't have a specific GPA cutoff, it's important for you to have a strong academic background to be a competitive applicant. For context, the middle 50% of accepted students at Georgia Tech have a weighted high school GPA between 4.0 and 4.5 on a 5.0 scale. However, it's important to remember that they also consider the rigor of your course load when evaluating your application, so taking challenging courses like APs, IBs, or dual-enrollment can work in your favor.

Additionally, keep in mind that Georgia Tech employs a holistic application review process. Your GPA is just one aspect of your application, and other factors like extracurricular involvement, essays, and letters of recommendation will also play a role in your admission chances. So, even if your GPA is slightly below their average range, you may still have a shot if other aspects of your application are particularly strong.

If you feel your GPA may be a weak point in your application, focus on showcasing your strengths in other areas and tailoring your application to emphasize your enthusiasm and fit for Georgia Tech. Good luck!
