Southern Indiana University, officially known as the University of Southern Indiana (USI), is located just outside the city of Evansville, in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. The main campus is situated at 8600 University Blvd, occupying roughly 1,400 acres of land and showcasing natural beauty with its many trails, lakes, and wooded areas.

Evansville is the third-largest city in Indiana, offering a combination of suburban and urban living, and it's situated on the Ohio River. With a population of around 117,000, Evansville offers various cultural and recreational attractions such as museums, parks, sporting events, shopping centers, theaters, and nightlife options. The city is also known for its historic districts, including Haynie's Corner Arts District and West Franklin Street, which feature a mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

In addition to the city-life offerings, the location of USI provides convenient access to a range of outdoor activities and natural sites, such as the nearby Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, Burdette Park and Victoria National Golf Club. The campus's proximity to Evansville also makes it feasible for students to seek internships, part-time jobs, and networking opportunities in various industries within the city. Being close to the Illinois and Kentucky borders, USI's location also facilitates easy exploration of nearby states and attractions.
