Do you know when early action decisions are usually released?

Hi everyone! I'm applying early action to a few colleges and I was wondering if there's a general timeline for when I can expect to receive the decisions. I've heard that it's usually in December, but I'm not sure if that's accurate or if it varies by school. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!

Hi there! It's great to hear that you're applying early action to some colleges. The timeline for early action decisions does vary by school, but you're right, December is a common month for most decisions to be released. Some colleges might release their decisions as early as mid-November, while others might be closer to the end of December.

In my experience, my child applied early action to a few colleges last year, and the decisions came in between mid-December and late December. For instance, they received their decision from one university on December 15th and another on December 20th.

If you want more specific information, I recommend checking the admissions website of each college you've applied to. They usually have a timeline or an estimated date when decisions will be released. You can also reach out to the admissions office for information if their website doesn't provide it. Finally, if you're following schools on social media or forums like this one, sometimes they may announce the decision release date as it gets closer.

One piece of advice: Be prepared for decisions to arrive at different dates, and don't stress too much if some of your friends receive their decisions earlier than you do. It's natural for colleges to have different timelines and it doesn't reflect anything on your application. Just remain patient and positive while you await your decisions. Good luck, and I hope you receive some great news in December!
