How diverse is UC Berkeley's Asian population?

Hi everyone, I'm an Asian-American student and I'm considering applying to UC Berkeley. I've heard that there's a large Asian population at the school, but I don't really know much more than that. Could someone give me more information on the different Asian demographics and communities on campus? Does it feel inclusive?

At UC Berkeley, you'll find a diverse and vibrant community of students, including a significant Asian-American population. According to recent data, approximately 43% of the undergraduate students identify as Asian-American, but it's essential to recognize that this group represents a wide range of ethnicities and backgrounds, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, Filipino, and other nationalities.

On campus, you'll find numerous student organizations and cultural centers dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and promoting the various Asian cultures. For example, there are clubs like the Chinese Student Association (CSA), the Korean-American Student Association (KASA), the Cal Japan Club (CJC), and many more that cater to specific communities.

Additionally, organizations like the Asian Pacific American Student Development (APASD) office offer cultural resources, academic support, and community engagement opportunities for the broader campus community, to foster an inclusive and empowering environment for Asian students.

As an Asian-American student at UC Berkeley, you can expect to find a supportive community where you'll be able to connect with others who share your cultural background, while also having the opportunity to learn about and engage with different Asian cultures. UC Berkeley is well-known for its multicultural environment, and such experiences can help you both refine and broaden your perspective during your college years.
