What class rank is good enough for Ivy League admissions?

I'm currently in the top 10% of my class, but I'm not sure if that's considered good enough for Ivy League schools. Do they have a specific class rank requirement?

First off, congratulations on being in the top 10% of your class – that's a fantastic achievement! When it comes to Ivy League admissions, there isn't a specific class rank requirement that you need to meet. However, it's important to remember that these schools are highly competitive, and many applicants will come from the top of their respective classes.

That being said, a high class rank is just one piece of the puzzle, and admissions officers also consider a range of other factors such as standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. Ivy League schools are known for their holistic approach to admissions, meaning they evaluate each applicant in the context of their unique circumstances, strengths, and experiences.

Aiming for the top 5% or higher to strengthen your chances is a great goal, but also focus on showcasing your passions, leadership skills, and other accomplishments. My child got into an Ivy League school without being in the top percentile of their class, due to their exceptional extracurricular experiences and strong application.
