Looking for HBCUs in Massachusetts: any recommendations?

Hi there! I'm interested in applying to historically black colleges and universities in Massachusetts. What HBCUs can I find in the state, and does anyone have any experience or recommendations? Thanks in advance!

While Massachusetts has a rich history of higher education institutions, there are actually no Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) located in the state. HBCUs are primarily located in the southern and southeastern United States, with a few exceptions in the Midwest and on the East Coast.

If you're open to expanding your college search outside of Massachusetts, there are many well-known HBCUs to choose from. Some notable options include Howard University in Washington D.C., Spelman College and Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. Each of these institutions offers a distinctive culture and academic focus, so you'll want to research them to see which one might be a good fit for your interests and goals.

If your heart is set on attending college in Massachusetts, you might consider looking into schools with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion that offer resources and support for students of all backgrounds. Colleges like University of Massachusetts Amherst, Boston University, and Tufts University, among others, have made significant efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community.
