Hey everyone! I'm a high school junior, and I've been doing some research on the University of Colorado Boulder. I want to know how diverse the campus is—do students come from a variety of backgrounds/cultures? What has been your experience or what you've heard from others? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! The University of Colorado Boulder, is known for having a somewhat diverse student body. As of Fall 2023, the undergraduate enrollment was approximately 65.2% White, 12.6% Hispanic/Latino, 9.5% Asian American, 6.8% International, 2.7% Black/African American, 1.5% Native American, and 1.1% unknown. Clearly, there is room for improvement in terms of racial and ethnic diversity, but the campus continues to work towards creating a more inclusive environment.

Additionally, CU Boulder has various resources and programs to support diversity and inclusion on campus. The Center for Inclusion and Social Change offers student support services like mentoring, social justice workshops, and resources for first-generation and historically underrepresented students. There are also numerous cultural clubs and organizations that help promote understanding of different cultures and provide a sense of community to students from various backgrounds.

Many students have said that they appreciate the diversity on campus, recognizing that there is a growing investment in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment. It's important to keep in mind that everyone's experience will be different, so it's a good idea to reach out to current students or alumni from CU Boulder to get firsthand perspectives on what diversity looks like at the university.

Visiting the campus, attending multicultural events, or participating in online information sessions can also give you a better sense of the campus atmosphere and diversity. Ultimately, it will be up to you to determine if you feel that CU Boulder's level of diversity aligns with your expectations and preferences for a college experience. Good luck!
