What is the average UVA GPA?

Hello! I've been considering applying to the University of Virginia, and I was wondering if anyone here knows what the average GPA is for accepted students at UVA? I want to see how my GPA stacks up. Thanks!

The University of Virginia (UVA) is a competitive school, and the average GPA of accepted students is quite high. For the Class of 2025, the average unweighted GPA for admitted students was around a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale. This means that, on average, successful applicants had A's in their high school courses.

It's important to note that UVA also considers the rigor of your course load. Ideally, you should be taking a challenging curriculum, including AP, IB, or honors courses, to show that you can handle college-level academics.

Keep in mind that UVA, like many schools, uses a holistic review process, which means they evaluate all aspects of your application and not just your GPA. In addition to your GPA, they'll consider your standardized test scores (if submitted), extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. So, while having a competitive GPA is important, it's not the sole determining factor for admission.
