How big is the student population at SUNY ESF?

I'm considering applying to SUNY ESF for environmental science, but I'm trying to get an idea of the size of the student population and campus vibe. Can anyone help me with this? Also, any insights about student life there would be awesome!

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) is a small university with a focus on environmental and natural resources management. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of around 1,800-2,000 students, which creates an intimate learning environment and fosters close connections with professors and peers. This relatively small size can be beneficial for students who prefer a tight-knit community and personalized attention from faculty.

As for the campus feel, SUNY ESF is located in Syracuse, New York, and shares a campus with Syracuse University. This provides ESF students with access to the resources, facilities, and activities of a larger research institution while still maintaining the smaller community feel of ESF itself. The partnership between the two schools allows ESF students to participate in clubs, intramural sports, and events at Syracuse University, which ultimately enhances the overall student experience.

In terms of student life at SUNY ESF, there are specific environmental and sustainability-focused clubs, as well as opportunities to engage in research projects or internships within the field. Students at ESF are passionate about environmental issues, and you'll likely find many like-minded individuals who share your interests. Additionally, the surrounding region of upstate New York offers outdoor recreational opportunities like hiking, kayaking, and skiing, allowing students to further connect to nature and apply their environmental studies in a real-world setting.
