Which AP subjects are best to self-study?

I was thinking about self-studying a few AP courses to boost my credentials. Which AP courses did you find the most manageable to self-study? And any tips on how to effectively do it?

While the best AP subjects to self-study might depend on your personal strengths, several AP courses are known for being fairly manageable to self-study.

Courses like AP Environmental Science, AP Human Geography, and AP Psychology have content that is generally considered easier to grasp individually. These subjects tend to rely less on prior knowledge and more on understanding and applying concepts, which can be a little bit easier when you're studying independently.

When it comes to studying, it's crucial to have a game plan. Start by getting a respected study guide for your chosen AP course. This should break down the information into manageable sections. You'll also want to look at College Board's course outline for the AP exam you are preparing for. This way, you know exactly what material the test covers.

Make a study schedule and be disciplined in sticking to it. It could be an hour every day or a few hours every weekend, but make sure it's consistent. Simulating full practice tests will also help to get familiar with the test format and manage the timing.

Remember, AP scores aren’t a make-or-break component of your application; they're just one piece of the puzzle. The courses you take and the grades you get are what's really important since they reflect your academic rigor. Don't overstretch yourself trying to self-study too many tests at once. Instead, try to focus on maintaining an excellent academic performance in your assigned courses.

Good luck with your studies!
