What can I do to strengthen my Ivy League application as an international student?

Hello everyone, I'm an international student (junior) and really hoping to get into an Ivy League school. I'm just wondering what are some things I can do or focus on to make my application stand out among the highly competitive applicant pool? I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 1540 SAT score. Additionally, I participate in various clubs and volunteer organizations. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi there! Your GPA and SAT scores are certainly impressive, so great job on that front. Given that you already have a strong academic profile, my suggestion would be to focus on extracurricular activities and showcasing your unique qualities as an international student.

Ivies often look for students who demonstrate deep involvement and leadership in a specific area. If there's something you're passionate about or a cause that's close to your heart, consider devoting more time to it and taking up leadership roles.

Additionally, you might want to look into participating in or initiating projects in your home country that demonstrate your commitment to making a positive change. This will not only show that you're proactive and passionate, but also provide insight into your background and how it has shaped your values.

Finally, don't forget to write a strong personal essay that truly reflects your personality and experiences. Best of luck!
