Basketball at Division 2 schools

Hey guys. I'm currently a junior and I absolutely love playing basketball. I think I might not make it to a D1 team but I still want to play in college. So, what are some of the top Division 2 schools for basketball? Any thoughts or pointers would be amazing. Thanks!

It's excellent that you're considering playing basketball in college at a Division 2 level, as sports can be an incredible way to enrich your college experience. With regard to top Division 2 schools for basketball, a few consistently well-performing schools come to mind:

West Texas A&M University: They've consistently ranked high in the NCAA Division 2 and have a rich basketball history.

Augustana University: Another strong contender, this South Dakota-based university has had frequent tournament appearances and good performance records.

University of Southern Indiana: They are often in the tournament mix and have a notable basketball program.

Bellarmine University: This Kentucky school just moved to Division I, but they had been a D2 powerhouse for years.

Remember though, it's important to not only examine the basketball programs but also the academic and campus life fit for you as a student. You'll be spending a significant amount of time off-court as well. Checking with admissions, speaking with coaches, and potentially visiting campuses can all help you gain a better idea of what life at these universities may be like.

Additionally, I'd recommend reaching out to your high school coach for more guidance on this process and potentially even assistance with reaching out to college coaches. Your coach may have some contacts or strategies that could be beneficial. Good luck with your college basketball journey!
