How does Iowa State University's Computer Science program rank?

Hello everyone! I'm heavily considering majoring in Computer Science and I'm wondering how Iowa State University's program ranks. Always dreamed of getting into a strong program so any insights would be helpful.

Iowa State University’s Computer Science program is regarded as solid and well-rounded. Although the program may not be as highly ranked as those at MIT or Stanford, its strengths lie in providing a solid foundation in computer science and several opportunities for hands-on applied learning.

The computer science program at ISU is well-established and backed up by a robust faculty and numerous research opportunities. Additionally, the school has a large number of technology and computing-focused labs and research centers, providing an array of avenues for students to supplement their classroom learning with practical experiences.

Furthermore, the program is ABET accredited, which signifies that it meets certain standards of quality that are recognized internationally.

In terms of rankings, we should always consider them with a grain of salt as they often vary based on the site or statistic you're looking at. That said, for contextual reference, U.S. News & World Report ranked Iowa State University's computer science graduate program at 64 for Best Computer Science Schools (for reference, there are hundreds across the country). However, it's essential to remember that rankings can't fully capture the depth and potential personal fit of a program.

Consider connecting with current students or alumni to gain a sense of the program's depth, offerings, and internships or job opportunities after graduation. These elements, alongside the program's curriculum strength and robust facilities, make ISU's Computer Science major a viable choice for many students.
