Considering Brandeis for a Psychology Major, any feedback?

Hi people! So, I'm set on doing psychology for my major in college--guess the human mind intrigues me. I've heard some good things about Brandeis University, and now I'm seriously considering it for my undergrad studies. Can anyone offer insight into the program? Like professors, class difficulty, and post-grad opportunities?

I think it's exciting you're considering Brandeis for your studies in psychology! Brandeis University is known for its strong psychology department, which can provide a solid foundation for your desired field of study.

When it comes to professors, many students describe them as knowledgeable, accessible, and deeply passionate about their fields. The professors seem to genuinely care for their students' wellbeing and academic success. They're there to both challenge you academically but also guide you through the learning process.

As for the difficulty of the courses, it can vary. Some courses can be quite challenging, particularly upper-level courses or those that are more research-oriented. But as with many programs, the difficulty often depends on how much time and effort you're willing to put into the class. The program encourages analytical thinking and hands-on, empirical research -- so be prepared to really dive into those subjects.

For post-graduation opportunities, a degree in psychology from Brandeis can open up a number of doors. Many graduates attend graduate school for specialized study (e.g., clinical psychology, neuropsychology), while others have gone on to pursue careers in fields such as social services, human resources, consulting, and more. They also have a Hiatt Career Center that offers student career support like internship placement, job search help, and career counseling.

Remember, every student's experience can be different and a lot depends on what you put into your education, but overall, Brandeis's psychology program has a positive reputation. Lastly, you might also want to consider contacting the department directly to ask specific questions or to connect with current students or recent graduates. Best of luck with your decision!
